“I promise <name> to commit my love to you, to respect your individuality, to be with you through life’s changes and to nurture and strengthen the love between us, as long as we both shall live.”
“I love you and I look forward to being your friend and companion, your <wife/husband/partner> and lover for life. I promise to love you and respect you, to stand by you and be faithful to you, to be open and honest with you and to always work toward our mutual growth. I promise this for the good times and the bad times, till death do us part.”
“I <name> cherish you <name> for being all that you are, all that you are not and all that you can be. Know that I am here for you and that your pain will be mine and your joy as well. All I ask is you – your love – your trust – your caring. I choose you to be my <wife/husband/partner>.”
“I take you to be my <wife/husband/partner>, my friend, my love and my lifelong companion; to share my life with yours. To build our dreams together, while allowing you to grow with your dreams; to support you through times of trouble and rejoice with you in times of happiness; to treat you with respect, love and loyalty through all the trials and triumphs of our lives together and to give you all the love I can give my whole life long. This commitment is made in love, kept in faith, lived in hope and eternally made new."
“I <name> choose you <name> to be my <wife/husband/partner>, my friend, my love, the <mother/father/parent> of our children. I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will cherish you and respect you, comfort you and encourage you and together we shall live, freed and bound by our love.”
Eskimo Love Song
You are my <wife/husband>.
My legs run because of you.
My feet dance because of you.
My heart shall beat because of you.
My eyes see because of you.
My mind thinks because of you.
And I shall love because of you.
From a Navajo Wedding Ceremony
Now you have lit a fire and that fire should not go out.
The two of you now have a fire that represents love,
understanding and a philosophy of life.
It will give you heat, food, warmth and happiness.
The new fire represents a new beginning - a new life and a new family.
The fire should keep burning; you should stay together.
You have lit the fire for life, until old age separates you.

This Day I Married My Best Friend
This day I married my best friend
…the one I laugh with as we share life’s wondrous zest,
as we find new enjoyments and experience all that’s best.
… the one I live for because the world seems brighter
as our happy times are better and our burdens feel much lighter.
… the one I love with every fibre of my soul.
We used to feel vaguely incomplete, now together we are whole.
This I Can Promise
I cannot promise you a life of sunshine,
I cannot promise riches, wealth or gold.
I cannot promise you an easy pathway,
That leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my hearts devotion,
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow,
A love that’s ever true and ever growing,
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
This is something that involves all of your guests. Your wedding rings are placed in an organza bag and passed around. Your friends and family are asked that, when they hold the rings, they are to pause and make a wish for your future.
"Martin and I can't thank you enough for such a relaxed and memorable wedding ceremony. You knew exactly how to help us compose ourselves during such an emotional time.
Your professional but easy-going approach is just perfect. Many of our guests commented on
how wonderful you were. Thanks again."
